2016

           Armistice & Remembrance Sunday   - November 2016

Due to illness - and for the first time in 14 years - we were unable to undertake our usual November pilgrimage to Belgium/France to commemorate Armistice Day in Ypres and on the Somme.

But it did mean that we were at home and could attend the Remembrance Sunday service at St Michael & All Angels Parish Church, Brimington

And to join the parade to the Memorial gates to lay our wreath

We also paid our usual visit to Brimington Cemetery to ensure our soldiers buried there were not forgotten.  Their graves and headstones were tidied, and remembrances crosses were laid.   We also reported back to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission - the state of some of the graves.
